Those fleeing conflict in Syria and other war zones around the world, along with survivors of natural disasters such as the earthquakes in Nepal last spring, need aid to rebuild their lives. With winter approaching, even just their immediate needs – warm clothes, shelter, and food, will be more important than ever. Bike Doctor wants to help. So we will be donating a percentage of our profits to three registered aid organizations working to alleviate the suffering.
Happy Earth Day, Vancouver! I, for one, love the concept of Earth Day but am always a little befuddled as to how to celebrate it. Also, shouldn’t we be paying respect to our awe-inspiring, enigmatic, fragile host daily? That thought aside, for one day out of the year our calendar reminds us that we need to look up from the screen, turn off the lights, and shut down the engine. The first two may be difficult to achieve on a daily basis, but the latter is completely feasible beyond April 22nd. Bike! Biking is probably the easiest shift to make in one’s life to benefit yourself and our planet, thereby making everyday Earth Day.
